Number Available: Varies

Deadline: NA

The Joubin/Selig Scholarship Fund was established by Toronto Foundation donors to provide financial assistance to post-secondary students in Ontario with permanent physical (mobility) disabilities who wish to pursue an education in their chosen field of study. Scholarships from the Joubin/Selig Scholarship Fund are available in competition among qualifying students enrolled in colleges and universities in Ontario.

The Joubin/Selig Scholarship Award supports students who are living with physical, mobility disabilities who may need assistance to get around on a daily basis. Students living with learning disabilities, speech impediments, or other types of non-mobility disabilities are, unfortunately, not eligible for this award.

The award(s) will be derived from the annual income of the Fund, and the total amount may vary in amount from year to year.

Criteria

  • Eligible persons will be full-time students enrolled in a recognized post-secondary institution in the province of Ontario. Note that the university/college that issues the scholarship must issue a T4 slip to the student.
  • Applicants must have a permanent physical (mobility) disability and must have demonstrated academic achievement.
  • Applicants must be a Canadian citizen or landed immigrant.
  • Good grades are a must to be considered for the scholarship. We also look at students’ commitment to the community as demonstrated through their volunteer and extra-curricular activities.
