Canadian Hearing Society National Scholarship Program

The Canadian Hearing Society National Scholarship Program was created to help break down financial barriers to higher education and build brighter futures for Deaf and hard of hearing students across Canada, and is uniquely inclusive of Deaf and hard of hearing students of all abilities. Selection criteria are based on community involvement, character references, and a demonstrated commitment to transform the lives of Deaf and hard of hearing Canadians–and not on grades or individual student performance indicators.

Amount: $3000 (full-time students) or $1000 (part-time students)

Criteria

  • The scholarships are available to all Deaf or hard of hearing Canadians
  • Canadian residents who are at least 17 years of age with a hearing loss of 50dB or greater, pure tone average, in both ears.
  • Applies to any accredited post-secondary institution

Applications for 2019 will be posted on the CHS website at www.chs.ca/scholarships in advance of the May 2019 submission date. Please check the website in January 2019 for more information.
