BC Epilepsy Society Bursary

Each year, our Society awards bursaries to people with epilepsy in BC who are entering, or are in a post-secondary academic, vocational, arts, technical or technological program. These bursaries can be applied towards tuition, books, on-campus housing, or other academic expenses. To be eligible, a student must demonstrate financial need, have a history of epilepsy, and be 16 years or older, a Canadian citizen, and a current member of the BC Epilepsy Society. The bursaries are awarded on the basis of educational commitment, volunteer work, and other achievements or interests. 

The BC Epilepsy Society is pleased to offer bursaries to students in British Columbia living with epilepsy who currently attend or plan to attend a post-secondary institution of education or training. Students will receive a $500 bursary applicable to the 2018 – 2019 academic year.

Criteria

To be eligible, a student must demonstrate financial need, have a history of epilepsy, and be 16 years or older, a Canadian citizen, and a current member of the BC Epilepsy Society.

  1. Please include two (non-family) letters of recommendation with your application. In order to be eligible, one of these references must be from academia e.g. teacher, professor, principal, or dean.
  2. Attach a copy of your current academic transcripts.
  3. Attach a copy of your university, college, trade/vocational/arts school application(s), acceptance letter(s), or confirmation of enrolment. If these items are unavailable, please enclose a list of the addresses and telephone numbers of the admission office(s).
